Counseling Services
For nearly 50 years, RAYS has been a source of hope and support for youth and their families working to overcome life’s challenges and to develop healthy and happy futures. Through our counseling services, we help our clients tap into their own resilience and strength to overcome difficulties, allowing them to thrive.
Our expertise
Our highly-trained counselors offer a range of therapeutic services to children and teens who are struggling with issues including:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Abuse
- Trauma
- Grief
- Neglect
- and many other challenges
Our services
We know the it’s important that ALL young people who need and want counseling services have access to them. We make our services easily accessible by going directly into local schools to meet with kids who otherwise may not be able to access counseling. We also offer counseling services at our downtown Renton and West Hill offices.
School-based services
RAYS provides counseling services in Renton and Tukwila elementary, middle and high schools. We collaborate with teachers, school counselors and administration to ensure our clients receive the highest level of wrap-around care. School-based services include individual and group counseling as well as case management.
Community-based services
We strive to ensure counseling services are accessible to all family members. In addition to our school-based services, we also offer individual, group and family counseling at both location. On a case by case basis we also meet our clients in coffee shops, libraries, parks or other convenient locations.
Case management / Community resource support
We take a holistic approach to counseling. We know that if kids do not feel safe and secure that their basic needs are being met, they aren’t going to be able to thrive in other areas of their lives. We work to help meet all these needs including access to medical care, food, clothing, housing and more. In addition, we work to broaden our clients’ natural support systems by providing case management to access extracurricular programs including sports programs, summer camps, and many more.
